Our signature, “share the journey”, expresses the Biblical notion that we’re on our Way together toward a life of hope, faith and generosity.
Membership at Heart of the Rockies is effected in two ways. Persons are invited to come forward near the end of worship to make their profession of faith or to move their membership from another community of faith. Others hesitant to stand before the congregation may ask to make their profession of faith after worship with just a pastor or elder and a couple of members of the church. We ask one simple question: Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, son of the Living God, and do you receive him as your Lord and Savior? While persons new to the faith are baptized by immersion, we do not require rebaptism by persons who were baptized in another part of the Body of Christ.
While membership in the Body of Christ at Heart of the Rockies is required for persons elected to positions of leadership, we have many friends (persons who have been worshipping with us for years without officially joining the church) who serve in a variety of positions and fulfill a number of important tasks in our congregation.
We don’t push people to join. However, we know that membership is a sign of commitment to a local part of the Body of Christ and it gives the church permission to invite folks into a greater accountability in their life and faith.
