Mystery Mountain Children's ministry
9:50 am - 10:50 am Sunday Mornings (during the school year)
Children from age 3 to 6th grade at Heart of the Rockies go on an adventure each Sunday morning on Mystery Mountain - our Sunday School program.
Mystery Mountain, the Sunday School ministry at HRCC for 3-year-olds through fifth grade, will begin September 11 from 9:50 until 10:45 a.m. Sixth graders will join the Middle School group for Sunday Mornings. We hope to see you and your children at the Trailhead (room 1).
This year our children will be going on an exploration tailored to their age level, allowing for deep exploration of scripture and topics throughout the year at their own stage of development. Mystery Mountain leaders will be there each week to help your child learn through games, art, music, storytelling, puppets and more. We engage all the senses in our classes and engage children with different learning styles. Our leaders team up so your child always has a familiar face, a warm heart and a challenging mind throughout the entire year. In addition, we encourage your child to develop the habit of spending quiet time with God as we make room for our Creator on Mystery Mountain.
Our children get to hear about faith, learn a lot and have a good time each week, but their favorite part of Mystery Mountain is the "Bubble Up/Bubble Down" time. During this time their class guide, a familiar face who stays with the class throughout the school year, leads the children in sharing their high and low points from the week and encourages the children to pray together and for one another.
Sixth graders this year, as in the past, will join the Middle School bunch for Sunday morning and continue to play and provide leadership for the Club 456 Wednesday evening program. Around January we will invite this age to begin to meet with the Middle School fellowship evening group as well.
New "Backpackers" (age 3 to 5th grade) are always welcome on Mystery Mountain. Classes are free and we meet from 9:50 am to 10:50 am on Sunday mornings beginning September 11. The adventure starts from Base Camp in Room 1.
