From our doorsteps to the ends of the earth, life is transformed in loving others.

Serve

Our congregation seeks to reach into the community and beyond.  Locally, we support several Mission Partners through our gifts of time, energy and money.  The Mission (Catholic Services) provides assistance and food to those in need in Fort Collins and provides a shelter and a job bank.  Fort Collins Area Interfaith Council is an ecumenical effort to address unmet needs in our area.  The Larimer County Child Advocacy Center provides a safe environment for interviewing abused children.  United Campus Ministries at Colorado State University provides a Christian-based outlet for college-aged students.  The Colorado Christian Home/Tennyson Center for Children and Families, based in Denver, is one of the few facilities in Colorado meeting the needs of abused and troubled children.

Our Outreach Ministry Team has recently reconfigured itself to cover our church’s ever-expanding sense of service and mission. Three sub-teams coordinate transforming service opportunities in three areas: Local, Domestic and Global. Mission experiences stretch from local service to our junior high working with La Puento Home in Alamosa, Colorado, and our high school youth building a home in Juarez, Mexico, to a number of our adults serving through global ministries.  We’re planning a spring, 2009, intergenerational mission trip.

Heart of the Rockies was a founding partner in the faith community’s Homelessness Prevention Fund that, through a small stipend to distressed families, helps keep families in their current home.  We helped create and pioneer Faith Volunteers in Poudre Schools, a volunteer program bringing into the classroom caring people from many Fort Collins faith communities.  Further, we created and run a respite program for foster, kin and adoptive families called Kids at Heart.
