From our doorsteps to the ends of the earth, life is transformed in loving others.
Homelessness Prevention Fund
Our congregation was one of the founding partners of Homelessness Prevention, an interfaith ministry providing financial help to families who are about to be evicted from their own home or a rental home. One-time help offered to families – averaging just under $300 – saves the community several thousands of dollars in re-location and other expenses. Just as important, children’s lives are not disrupted. For example, they can continue to attend their same schools. Each Christmas Eve, an offering is taken, the full amount of which is forwarded to the Homelessness Prevention Fund. Last year our congregation gave over $3000, keeping 10 families in their homes.
