Tour of Life
Tour of Life is Heart of the Rockies’ extraordinary learning experience for youth and others thinking about baptism (or confirmation) and living the Christian life. Our next Tour will be held on Friday evening and Saturday, March 26 & 27.
Several adults have already signed up to serve as mentors. If you would like to help (you’ll receive as much as you give!), call Jeff at the office. If you have a child or youth who — or you yourself — would like to participate as a disciple on the tour, please call the church office (223-1230).
Destination: Life
Throughout history, the six weeks preceding the church’s celebration of Easter have been used to “go deeper.” Some enter into a time of discernment about the decision to follow “the Way” of Jesus. Others use the time to prepare for baptism. Still others, having made the commitment to trust Jesus with their life, become more intentional about their journey along the way of Jesus.
This Lent, we’re offering a sermon series and coinciding small group gatherings that will help us grow toward spiritual maturity. Destination: Life is built around the premise that the place where we live our spirituality and grow to experience life at its deepest and best is in the ordinary comings and goings of our daily lives.
Destination: Life invites our congregation to discover God’s redeeming presence in our everyday human experiences – in our families, at school or work, while caring for others, during times of play, in the midst of suffering, and even in the church!

NEW-Comers Gathering
If you have been a recent guest or have been worshipping with us regularly and would like to meet some more folks and learn about our congregation, this night is designed for you! We would love to get a chance to introduce you to some great people, share our vision for Heart of the Rockies and help you find your way around our church community. We will share in dinner and conversation on February 24, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Hardin-Nieri home (2950 Golden Harvest). Email Scott Hardin-Nieri(scott@heartoftherockies.org) or Tim Soper (thsoper@comcast.net) to let us know you are interested in coming.
Alamosa Mission Experience
All singles, families and youth are invited to another mission experience, March 14-19, 2010. We will be working with La Puente Home in Alamosa, CO, serving the homeless, building houses and learning about issues of poverty and God’s love. The space for this event is limited. We have eighteen participants and are hoping for about four more. If you are interested, register soon, the spots will go quickly. Please contact Scott Hardin-Nieri (223-1230) to learn more.
Adult Education
Adult Education classes continue with these two new classes, along with Women at the Well:
JESUS & JUSTICE: Led by Scott Hardin-Nieri, this course presented to coordinate with the all- church mission trip this month, which will serve the homeless in Alamosa. Adult Education, in collaboration with Outreach, will explore some of the issues facing the "least of these" in Alamosa. All are welcome to join.
Destination Life: Our Worship and Small Groups Ministries are exploring a small group opportunity during the Adult Education Sunday School hour that would coincide with the sermons preached during Lent.
WOMEN AT THE WELL: This is a support/study group that meets continuously from September through May, with a focus on a book study. This group is facilitated by Tami Wineinger and Laura Stout and meets in Jeff 's office.
