Some members of HRCC’s Apartheid-Free team are participating in a pilot program called Friends of Palestinian Detainees, sponsored by Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA). This program was created out of a deep commitment to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people as a whole, and in particular to offer support and advocacy for Palestinian detainees and prisoners held in Israeli-run prisons.

Our team was recently matched with Mayss, a 28-year-old Palestinian woman and former prisoner. Two of her brothers are currently being held in administrative detention without charges or fair trials. In the coming months, we hope to build a trusting relationship with Mays, explore meaningful ways to support her and her family, and grow together through mutual learning and exchange.
