World Refugee Day is June 20, an annual recognition celebrating and honoring refugees from around the world. The 2025 theme is Solidarity with Refugees, which emphasizes the importance of showing compassion and support for people forced to flee their homes, both through words and actions. Since December 2021, our church has been very involved with the resettlement of the J family from Afghanistan. We also worked with the Interfaith Council in 2024 to resettle the S family, also from Afghanistan. Thanks to the support of several faith communities, and their own hard work, both families are thriving; you can read an update here.
We will recognize World Refugee Day during worship on Sunday, June 15. We are pleased that the J family will join us for fellowship time. They are eager to thank folks for their support and friendship, and you'll have the opportunity to learn more about their lives in Fort Collins. You'll be impressed!
